Senior Category Manager

AutoZone's Category Manager develops and implements a buying philosophy, a pricing philosophy and a marketing strategy, develops and maintains vendor relationships, and manages all aspects of their categories.

• Participates in all team activities and decisions .
• Selects quality vendors . Negotiates programs .
• Analyzes market research and to effectively put the right products in the right stores at the right prices.
• Uses information from sales, gross profit and various ad hoc reports to make sure their assigned categories meet established performance targets .
• Adds and deletes products in response to industry changes and customer demands.
• Tests new products and troubleshoots supply chain issues

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required .
• Five to seven years experience, preferably in a retail operations environment .
• Prior experience in merchandising, purchasing and manufacturing a plus. Strong financial acumen and communication skills .
• Strong retail foundation, vendor management and analytical skills
