Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Summary

Design and maintain cloud platforms and Kubernetes infrastructure for enterprise use, lead cloud-native initiatives, and mentor junior engineers.

You will design, develop, manage, and maintain cloud platforms and services for enterprise use. You will lead Kubernetes and cloud-native initiatives, provide Level 3 support, build scalable infrastructure, guide technical solutions, investigate system problems, and mentor junior cloud engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, manage, and maintain cloud platforms, services, and components
  • Serve as a senior technical leader and subject-matter expert for Kubernetes and cloud-native systems
  • Provide Level 3 support
  • Own enterprise cloud products or complex product components
  • Lead design discussions focused on security, scalability, and implementation best practices
  • Build and operate highly available and scalable software and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with lead engineers and architects on solution design and task estimation
  • Participate in planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups
  • Mentor and support junior and emerging cloud engineers
  • Write and maintain documentation
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve system problems

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • 5+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • 5+ years of experience using CI/CD tools
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform, Helm, or Kustomize
  • Experience delivering enterprise systems across multiple teams
  • Full stack product development experience
  • Experience leading small technical teams in delivering production solutions
  • Knowledge of software design patterns, infrastructure architecture, DevOps, and security
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Understanding of cloud security, networking, workload identity, policy-as-code, and secrets management
  • Experience with Kubernetes or containerized applications
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect certification is an asset
  • Experience within Canadian financial institutions is a benefit
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or mathematics
