Make Your Mark

As a Senior Data Engineer in our growing Business Intelligence & Analytics Engineering team in Krakow, you will be a core hands-on builder of the data platform behind a mission-critical, AI-powered SaaS product. You will design and deliver the pipelines, models, and reports that our customers and internal teams rely on to make decisions worth millions of dollars - and you will do it to a high engineering bar, with modern tooling, alongside a talented team you help to grow.

You will build how data flows from our transactional systems into Snowflake, model it for reliability and performance, and surface it as trusted, actionable insight through Power BI. Working closely with our Staff engineers, Manager, and Product partners, you will take ownership of well-scoped areas of the platform, raise the quality bar through the work you deliver, and grow toward technical leadership. As a forward-thinking engineer in our mission to deliver autonomous finance, you will use modern AI development tools like Claude and Cursor to accelerate delivery and sharpen quality across the data platform.

You'll Get To

  • Build and Govern Data Pipelines: Design, implement, and maintain robust ELT/ETL pipelines that reliably move and transform data from operational systems (microservices, event streams, third-party sources) into well-modelled, analytics-ready datasets in Snowflake.
  • Deliver Trusted Analytics with Power BI: Develop enterprise-grade Power BI reports and dashboards for both internal stakeholders and customer-facing analytics, building semantic models, row-level security, and a governed BI layer that people trust.
  • Contribute to the Data Platform Architecture: Help shape and evolve our end-to-end data architecture on Snowflake - from ingestion and transformation to serving - and deliver your areas of it so the platform stays scalable, cost-efficient, and reliable.
  • Champion Modern Data Modelling: Apply best-in-class transformation practices, producing modular, well-tested, and documented data models that the whole team can build on.
  • Champion AI-Accelerated Development: Use and promote agentic development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to accelerate pipeline development, query optimization, and documentation - and help teammates adopt the same mindset.
  • Build in Data Quality and Observability: Bake data quality frameworks, automated testing, and monitoring into the pipelines you build, catching data issues before they reach customers or business decisions.
  • Grow and Share Your Craft: Raise the bar through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing on data modelling, Snowflake optimization, and BI best practices, and grow toward broader technical leadership over time.
  • Collaborate Across the Organization: Partner with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Finance stakeholders to understand data needs, translate them into reliable data products, and communicate platform capabilities and constraints clearly.

Technical / Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modelling, performance tuning, cost optimization, clustering or dynamic tables, and Snowflake-native security and governance features.
  • Solid Power BI proficiency: building semantic models (DAX, Power Query), enterprise report design, row-level security, incremental refresh, and working with the Power BI service.
  • Proven experience building and operating production ELT/ETL pipelines using tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent orchestration frameworks.
  • Expert-level SQL and working knowledge of at least one general-purpose language (Python preferred) for data processing and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI-driven development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to improve data engineering velocity and quality.
  • A strong data quality and observability mindset - you build monitoring, alerting, and testing into data pipelines from the start, not as an afterthought.
  • The ability to work independently on well-scoped initiatives, taking ownership from ambiguous requirements through to reliable, well-adopted data products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable translating between technical data concepts and business requirements, and collaborating effectively across time zones.

We're Even More Excited If You Have

  • Experience in a regulated industry such as finance, accounting, or fintech, with sensitivity to data governance, auditability, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, including database mirroring from Azure-hosted sources into an analytical data platform.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native data architectures on Azure or AWS - particularly Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, AWS Glue, or S3-based data lake patterns.
  • Experience with streaming or event-driven data ingestion using Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, or similar, feeding near-real-time analytical workloads.
  • Knowledge of Responsible AI principles and experience building data infrastructure that supports trustworthy, auditable AI/ML pipelines.
  • A history of contributing to open-source data tooling, or a passion for exploring emerging patterns in the modern data stack.
