Senior Data Engineer
Summary
Lead the delivery of scalable finance data products at EDF Energy in London: build end-to-end data solutions across ingestion, transformation and reporting, mentor engineers, and shape data tooling and standards. Core stack includes SQL, Snowflake, Python, DBT and CI/CD in a hybrid work model.
In this Senior Data Engineer role, you lead the delivery of data products for finance, guiding a growing data capability and mentoring engineers. You work across the full data lifecycle to enable reliable, scalable insights that drive business decisions. You’ll shape engineering standards and tooling while aligning with Finance goals and cross-functional partners. - Act as technical lead and mentor for engineers within the team

- Support agile delivery, prioritise work, and ensure outcomes align with business objectives
- Develop reliable, scalable, and sustainable data solutions for large datasets
- Help shape future direction of the Finance data capability, including tooling and ways of working
- Monitor and ensure operational performance and reliability of data platforms
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers in agile delivery environments
- Strong experience delivering end-to-end data solutions (ingestion, transformation, reporting, analytics)
- Excellent SQL and modern data warehousing knowledge, ideally Snowflake
- Experience with Python, DBT, CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data integration and ETL processes
- Experience with large, complex datasets in enterprise settings
- Ability to influence technical decisions and promote engineering best practices
- Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
