Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to manage the lifecycle of data pipelines, from design and build to deployment and maintenance.

In this role, you will translate business needs and rules for specific use cases or data products into comprehensive data definitions, data models, and data quality requirements. You will rely on a thorough understanding of business processes and underlying data to transform raw data into actionable information and insights.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of data pipelines, including design, build, deployment, and maintenance
• Translate business needs and rules into comprehensive data definitions, data models, and data quality requirements
• Analyze data sources and define the most suitable data structure based on the nature of the use case (reporting, analytics, operational) and expected level of service
• Perform source-to-target mapping during the design phase
• Leverage CI/CD pipelines to promote code and execute quality assurance checks, ensuring robust, performant, and scalable data pipelines
• Conduct root cause analysis in case of service disruptions, acting as 3rd line of support to debug code and restore services
• Collaborate daily with the Lead Data Engineer and Solution Architect to align on requirements and architecture guidelines
• Transform raw data into actionable insights that support business decision-making

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or another technically oriented discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in a related role
• Understanding of the data lifecycle value chain and underlying components (ETL/ELT, DWH/Data Lake)
• Familiarity with SDLC tools and frameworks (CI/CD, automation, monitoring)
• Previous experience working in a scaled agile environment
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)

• Experience in retail, marketing, supply chain, or finance
• Agile/SAFe certifications
• Azure Data Engineer certification or AWS/GCP equivalent
• Azure Solutions Architect certification or AWS/GCP equivalent
• Certified Data Management Professional (DAMA)
