The Role
Were supporting a fast-growing, FCA-regulated financial services organisation seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the evolution of its Snowflake-based Data Lakehouse platform. This is a hands-on contract role that will see you working across the full data life cycle, from architecture and ingestion through to modelling, governance, and business intelligence. Youll play a key role in delivering data solutions that support trading, operational, and commercial decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and enhance a Snowflake-based Data Lakehouse environment.
Develop scalable data models and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
Build and optimise dbt pipelines using best practice frameworks.
Deliver business-critical reporting and dashboards through Power BI.
Drive performance optimisation, governance, and data quality initiatives.
Work directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Essential Experience:
Financial Services, Trading, Capital Markets, or FinTech experience.
Proven experience designing and delivering Data Warehouse or Lakehouse solutions on Snowflake.
Advanced SQL and data modelling expertise, including dimensional modelling and star/snowflake schemas.
Strong commercial experience with dbt
Extensive Power BI experience
Strong Snowflake optimisation experience, including warehouse sizing, clustering, query profiling, and cost management.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
