Senior Data Platform Engineer (Azure, Databricks, Python/SQL)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data platforms that enable advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making. This role will play a key part in building scalable data infrastructure, modernizing data processes, and supporting business-critical reporting and analytics solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data pipelines and data lake/data warehouse architectures on Microsoft Azure.

• Implement and support modern data engineering tools and frameworks including Azure Data Factory and Databricks.

• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot platform performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver robust data solutions.

• Prepare high-level and detailed technical designs for data platforms and integrations.

• Apply best practices in software development, testing, deployment, and CI/CD automation.

• Participate in Agile delivery processes including Scrum and Kanban ceremonies.

• Research emerging technologies and recommend continuous improvements to the data ecosystem.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or software engineering.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.

• Strong development experience using Python and/or TypeScript.

• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and modern data warehouse solutions using Databricks, Python, and PySpark.

• Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Experience integrating data from enterprise sources including SharePoint Online, Excel files, and other business systems.

• Understanding of SDLC, project management methodologies, and Agile frameworks.

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI semantic models, DAX, and REST API integrations.

• Certifications related to Azure, Databricks, DevOps, Scrum, or Secure Coding.
