Senior Data Platform Engineer

Behind every report, dashboard, and business insight sits a reliable data platform. As the business continues to grow across manufacturing, distribution, retail, and digital operations, the need for trusted, high-performing data becomes increasingly important.

We're looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to own and strengthen the data foundations that support decision-making across the business. This role is focused on building and optimising data pipelines, improving platform performance, and ensuring data is structured, reliable, and accessible.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping and optimising the data platform that supports the business, enabling reliable insights and better decision-making across the organisation.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Owning, modernising, and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Optimising SQL Server performance through query tuning, execution plan analysis, and indexing strategies
• Designing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise tabular models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Power BI
• Applying dimensional modelling best practices to create scalable and efficient data solutions
• Troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline, database, and model refresh issues
• Supporting the reliability, performance, and scalability of the data platform across all environments

What we're looking for:

• Advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including performance tuning and execution plan analysis
• Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages and workflows
• Proven experience building and optimising SSAS tabular models
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and star-schema design principles
• Experience diagnosing and resolving database and data platform performance issues
• A structured, analytical approach with strong problem-solving ability
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
