At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we're hiring highly technical database application developer to help our customers develop technical expertise and capacity, while also collaborating with our customers and partners on key engagements. Our consultants will deliver pilot projects, topical workshops, and lead implementation projects using database application development expertise. Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer.

Responsibilities

• Helping customers architect scalable, highly available database solutions that leverage AWS services
• Developing customer applications and database to be cloud optimized
• Analyze on-premises database environments such as Oracle, SQL*Server, or other Commercial DB Engines to Open Source Engines like Aurora-PostgreSQL/MySQL or No-SQL DB like DynamoDB
• Consult for optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance
• Working as a technical leader along side customer business, development and infrastructure teams
• Advising and implementing AWS best practices
• Travel to client locations and deliver professional services as needed

Requirements

• 10+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience
• 7+ years of database (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB) experience

Preferred

• Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies
• Experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
• Experience in heterogeneous database migration such as Oracle to Aurora
