Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Stefanini is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to play a key role in migrating our client’s cloud infrastructure (AWS) from multiple AWS accounts into a single consolidated environment, whilst streamlining the software deployment processes for our client’s in-house developed application platform.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a modern HashiCorp-based infrastructure stack and thrive in an environment where ambiguity and problem-solving go hand in hand.

• Work model: remote from any location in Portugal;
• Role duration: 6 months;

Technology Stack:

• Languages/Runtime: NodeJS / .NET Core;
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform;
• Cloud Platform: AWS (including AWS Lambda);
• API Gateway: KrakenD;
• Reverse Proxy: Nginx;
• Container Orchestration: Nomad;
• Service Mesh: Consul;
• Secret Management: Vault;
• CI/CD: Bamboo;

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the migration of AWS infrastructure from multiple accounts into a single consolidated AWS environment;
• Streamline and improve software deployment pipelines for the in-house application platform;
• Design, build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform;
• Manage and administer HashiCorp tooling — Vault, Consul and Nomad;
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using scripting languages;
• Monitor platform performance and health using APM and logging tooling;
• Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and platform stability;
• Work effectively with ambiguity, identifying pragmatic paths forward;

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

• Strong expertise across the HashiCorp toolset — Terraform, Vault, Consul and Nomad;
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud computing and cloud infrastructure management;
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation;
• Experience with scripting languages — Python, Bash or Go;
• Working knowledge of programming languages — NodeJS, Python or C#;
• Experience with APM and logging tools such as Datadog, New Relic or ELK stack;
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
• Ability to navigate and deliver in ambiguous environments;
• English written/spoken fluency;

Desirable:

• Knowledge of network security and infrastructure security best practices;
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and service mesh concepts;
