Job Overview
Senior DevOps Engineer – UAE (Remote with optional UAE office access)
This role is located in the UAE and requires physical presence for in‑person interviews and occasional on‑site meetings. The Senior DevOps Engineer will be a key member of the Infrastructure and Platform Services team, responsible for the Identity Security Cloud platform’s UAE deployment.
Responsibilities
- Work with Engineering, Product, Services and other departments to design, deploy and operate the global customer‑facing SaaS infrastructure in the UAE.
- Maintain 24/7 production operations for a highly available cloud service.
- Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters and CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.).
- Deploy and administer distributed data stores (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, etc.).
- Use infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with AWS in the UAE region to support SailPoint products and meet data‑sovereignty requirements.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to incidents independently.
- Own and deliver projects that run data stores securely in restricted access environments.
- Ensure compliance with information security standards such as ISO, SOC, and SSAE 16.
- Work in an agile, entrepreneurial start‑up environment with strong interpersonal and teaming skills.
Onboarding & Success Roadmap
- Within first 30 days: onboard, familiarise with product offering, set up test and development environments, and begin project work.
- Up to 90 days: collaborate on projects, fully integrate with the team, join on‑call rotation, and become an expert on the SailPoint ISC product.
- By 6 months: own and implement projects for secure data‑store operations, handle on‑call incidents independently, and promote new features into production.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in 24x7 production operations, preferably supporting a highly available SaaS or cloud service provider.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructures, especially AWS.
- Experience with Kubernetes and tools such as ArgoCD.
- Experience deploying and maintaining databases and distributed data stores: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka.
- Experience with Machine Learning and data tools such as Apache Airflow and Flink.
- Release automation experience (Jenkins, etc.).
- System administration, configuration, and debugging skills.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and IaC tools (Terraform).
- Strong understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and teaming skills; ability to influence engineers who are not direct reports.
- Ability to operate in an agile, entrepreneurial start‑up environment.
Education
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
