Senior DevOps Engineer
Summary
Senior DevOps Engineer contracting via emagine for an energy-sector client in Greater Copenhagen, migrating Kubernetes workloads and DevOps pipelines from Azure to AWS using Terraform, GitHub Actions, EKS/AKS, and operating JupyterHub at scale; hybrid with at least 2 onsite days per week (Oct 2026 - Mar 2027).
On behalf of a client in the Energy industry, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the migration of Kubernetes-based applications and DevOps pipelines from Azure to AWS.
Main Responsibilities
• Support migration of Kubernetes workloads from Azure to AWS
• Migrate and adapt infrastructure using Terraform
• Support migration from Azure DevOps pipelines to GitHub Actions
• Handle networking, identity, security, secrets and connectivity across Azure and AWS
• Support data/storage migration, observability, validation, troubleshooting and production operations
Key Requirements
• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Infrastructure experience, including Kubernetes-based application migrations
• Strong Kubernetes and container experience, including Docker, Helm and/or Kustomize, RBAC, ingress and production cluster operations
• Strong AWS/EKS experience combined with solid Azure/AKS experience
• Expert-level Terraform experience across Azure and AWS
• Expert-level GitHub Actions experience
• Strong cloud/Kubernetes networking and security experience, including IAM, identity, DNS, private connectivity, secrets and workload security
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana and/or OpenTelemetry
• Python or Bash scripting experience
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating JupyterHub/JupyterLab at scale on Kubernetes is required, preferably on AWS EKS.
Nice to Have
• Previous AKS to EKS migration experience
• Previous migration from Azure DevOps YAML pipelines to GitHub Actions
• JupyterHub/JupyterLab experience
