Senior DevOps Engineer: GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform Lead

Shakers in Milan is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own a cloud-native platform running on Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Terraform and Flux CD. You will shape the practices around deployment, observability and recovery for a fintech product used by thousands of SMEs.

The role demands 4+ years in DevOps/SRE, production-scale Terraform, and strong skills in Docker, Kubernetes and GitHub Actions, with a focus on reliability and regulatory compliance.

Own the cloud infrastructure end to end: reliability, scalability and security posture. Assess the existing Terraform implementation and replicate best practices from test to production. Optimize and automate CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Flux CD. Strengthen the observability framework (Prometheus, Grafana, Google-native tooling, OpenTelemetry). Draft and implement disaster recovery plans for core infrastructure components. Partner with Payments, Onboarding and Billing teams to build resilience and recovery into their applications. Drive cost optimization and performance tuning across GCP services. Document infrastructure, operational procedures and architectural decisions. Act as the internal reference for DevOps practices and mentor the wider tech team. Keep the platform aligned with regulatory and security compliance requirements, including external audit readiness. 4+ years in DevOps, SRE or Software Engineering roles with strong operational exposure. Terraform at production scale. Docker and Kubernetes. CI/CD design and implementation, ideally with GitHub Actions. Monitoring and logging with Prometheus and OpenTelemetry. Experience with distributed systems. Strong troubleshooting across application, network (TCP/IP) and system layers.
