Senior Director, Strategy and Sales Operations

Role and Responsibilities
The Sr. Director of Strategy and Sales Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational foundation that drives the effectiveness and performance of the sales organization. This includes owning data infrastructure and reporting, systems management, pricing strategy, sales enablement, and cross functional project management. The role serves as a critical strategic partner to sales leadership and key stakeholders across the business, ensuring that the right tools, processes, and insights are in place to support growth and drive informed decision making.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Data Infrastructure and Reporting
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of the data infrastructure that supports business visibility and decision making across the sales organization.
- Build and manage reporting frameworks that provide leadership with accurate, timely, and actionable insights into sales performance, trends, and forecasting.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across all reporting platforms and tools.
- Partner with IT and business intelligence teams to continuously improve data capabilities and reporting automation.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs that align with business objectives and allow .leadership to monitor performance in real time.
2. Systems Management including Salesforce and Pipeline Management
- Oversee the administration, optimization, and strategy of Salesforce and other sales systems to ensure they are effectively supporting the sales team.
- Manage the integrity of the sales pipeline by ensuring data accuracy, proper stage management, and consistent usage across the team.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current systems and lead efforts to implement improvements or new technology solutions.
- Ensure all systems are integrated and working together to provide a seamless experience for the sales team.
- Develop and enforce system usage standards and best practices across the organization.
3. Pricing / RFPs / Contracts
- Own the development and management of pricing strategies and frameworks that are competitive, profitable, and aligned with business goals.
- Lead the RFP process from start to finish ensuring responses are accurate, timely, and position the company competitively.
- Partner with sales, finance, and legal to manage contract negotiations and ensure terms are aligned with company policy and objectives.
- Monitor market pricing trends and competitive landscape to make recommendations on pricing adjustments.
- Build and maintain pricing tools and resources that allow the sales team to move quickly and accurately in customer negotiations.
4. Sales Enablement
- Design and execute comprehensive sales enablement programs that equip the sales team with the training, content, and tools they need to be effective.
- Develop onboarding programs for new sales hires to accelerate their ramp time and productivity.
- Create and maintain a library of sales content including pitch decks, case studies, product materials, and competitive positioning.
- Partner with sales leadership to identify skill gaps and build targeted coaching and development programs to address them.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of enablement initiatives and continuously refine programs based on data and feedback.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key strategic partner to sales leadership, finance, marketing, and product to ensure alignment across all go to market initiatives.
- Act as the connective tissue between multiple functions by ensuring that operational strategies, pricing decisions, and enablement programs are all moving in the same direction.
- Lead cross functional meetings and working sessions to drive alignment on shared priorities and resolve operational challenges.
- Communicate performance insights, strategic recommendations, and operational updates to senior leadership in a clear and compelling way.
- Build strong relationships across the organization to influence decisions and drive initiatives forward without always having direct authority.
Skills and Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive experience in sales operations, strategy, or a related field with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership capacity
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field (Required)
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree (Preferred)
- Project Management certification such as PMP (Preferred)
- Business intelligence or data analytics certifications (Preferred)
- Deep knowledge of sales operations and strategy within a complex, matrixed organization
- Strong understanding of data infrastructure, reporting systems, and business intelligence tools
- Extensive experience in pricing strategy, including the ability to develop and manage pricing frameworks that align with business objectives
- Proven experience leading sales enablement programs and measuring their impact on sales performance
- Broad knowledge of CRM systems, sales technology, and operational tools that support a high performing sales organization
- Experience managing large cross functional teams and initiatives across multiple disciplines simultaneously
