Senior Embedded C++ Engineer (Full-time, remote from LatAm)
Ruzora places senior LatAm engineers full-time with US startups. We're hiring a Senior Embedded C++ Engineer to join a partner company shipping connected hardware: IoT devices, robotics, sensors and industrial equipment. You'll write the firmware and low-level software that runs on the device and talks to the cloud.
What you'll do
- Write and maintain firmware and embedded software in modern C++ (C++14/17/20) and C
- Build drivers and board support for peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, BLE)
- Work on RTOS-based systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and embedded Linux
- Debug on real hardware with JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
- Optimize for memory, power and real-time constraints
- Write tests and CI for firmware, and review code with the team
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of embedded software development, most of it in C++ and C
- Production experience on microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M or similar)
- Solid grasp of RTOS concepts, interrupts, concurrency and memory management
- Comfortable reading schematics and datasheets and working next to hardware engineers
- Git, CMake and a test habit (unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop)
- Excellent written and spoken English (B2 or higher)
Nice to have
- Embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot) and device drivers
- Rust for embedded
- Wireless stacks (BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, cellular) and OTA updates
- Robotics, medical devices or automotive standards (MISRA, ISO 26262)
