Senior Engineer - Electrical
As part of the Building Services team for WSP USA within the WSP India Global Capability Centre (GCC), the Senior Engineer – Electrical will provide engineering design, CAD, and BIM support for a wide range of building services projects.
The successful candidate will be based in the Bengaluru office and will be responsible for developing BIM models, detailed electrical engineering designs, and construction drawings for projects in the United States. Prior experience working on USA-based projects is essential.
The role involves working on multiple projects simultaneously, requiring the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with engineers and project teams in the United States. The candidate should demonstrate strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage project deliverables within established timelines and quality standards.
- Develop detailed electrical designs for commercial, healthcare, residential, mixed-use, and institutional building projects.
- Prepare electrical power distribution systems, single-line diagrams, layouts, schedules, and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, IECC, local authority requirements, and client standards.
- Deliver project outputs within schedule and quality requirements.
Required Technical Skills
- Lighting design calculations and lighting system modelling in Revit.
- Design and preparation of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) single-line diagrams.
- Electrical BIM modelling of fixtures, equipment, and systems in accordance with NEC requirements.
- Electrical load calculations and short-circuit/fault analysis.
- Coordination of electrical systems within multidisciplinary BIM environments.
Software Skills
- Revit (Electrical BIM Modelling)
- AGi32, Visual, or ElumTools for lighting analysis and calculations.
- ETAP or SKM Power Tools for power system studies and fault analysis.
- COMcheck and EnergyPro for energy compliance and energy code analysis.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum experience delivering building services projects for the USA market.
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IES, and other relevant US electrical design standards.
- Experience working directly with US-based engineers and project teams.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple project deliverables and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills in a global project environment.
