Responsibilities

• Implement unit-level EHS policies, procedures, standards, and compliance programs.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and environmental risks.
• Perform risk assessments and support development of safe operating procedures, JSAs, and control measures.
• Monitor compliance with PPE, work permits, lockout/tagout, confined-space, work-at-height, and other critical safety requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental events; prepare reports and track corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, refresher sessions, and EHS awareness campaigns for employees and contractors.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including drills, fire safety checks, evacuation readiness, and first-aid arrangements.
• Maintain statutory registers, permits, inspection records, training records, and EHS performance data.
• Support internal and external EHS audits, regulatory inspections, and closure of audit observations.
• Monitor waste segregation, disposal practices, resource use, emissions-related controls, and other environmental obligations.
• Engage with operations, maintenance, HR, security, and contractors to strengthen safety performance and continuous improvement.
• Prepare periodic EHS dashboards, compliance reports, and management review inputs.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline
• Professional certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or equivalent
• Experience in ISO management systems, internal audits, and corrective action tracking
• Experience working in a manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, logistics, or industrial facility
• Knowledge of fire safety, first aid, ergonomics, and occupational health programs
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and training facilitation skills
