Senior Field Engineer

You will lead complex customer engagements from technical discovery and solution design through integration, deployment, and ongoing delivery. You will own solution architectures, coordinate technical delivery, translate field feedback into product improvements, create reusable delivery materials, mentor engineers, and provide hands-on software engineering support where needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer engagements from technical discovery and solution design through integration, deployment, and ongoing delivery
• Design and own solution architectures, integration points, data flows, infrastructure requirements, and security considerations
• Act as a senior technical point of contact for customers
• Lead technical delivery during customer deployments, military exercises, and field experimentation
• Coordinate delivery across customer and internal teams, resolving dependencies and risks
• Translate field experience into actionable product and engineering feedback
• Lead and contribute to technical solutioning for bids, RFPs, ITTs, and defence procurement opportunities
• Build reusable reference architectures, integration patterns, deployment guides, and customer training materials
• Mentor Field Engineers through reviews, knowledge sharing, and hands-on guidance
• Improve Field Engineering processes, standards, and ways of working
• Undertake hands-on software engineering to solve customer problems and support delivery

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience with complex technical systems
• Experience designing, integrating, and deploying software across multiple systems and environments
• Strong knowledge of networking, infrastructure, systems integration, and software installation and configuration
• Experience producing technical architecture and design documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, and interface specifications
• Experience delivering technology directly with customers in Field Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, or a comparable role
• Ability to take technical work from requirements and architecture through integration and deployment
• Experience in defence, national security, intelligence, or another complex operationally constrained environment is highly desirable
• Experience with military systems, geospatial technologies, secure or classified environments, simulation, Command and Control, or distributed systems is advantageous
