Senior Front-End Developer

Description

OrbicTrade is an AI-enabled front-office and risk platform built specifically for commodity traders. It captures deal intent at source, turns it into structured, integration-ready trades, and connects with existing CTRM, ERP, and data platforms.

Traders, trade control, operations, and risk teams use OrbicTrade across crude and products, LNG, metals and concentrates, and agriculture. We do not replace the CTRM. We are the intelligent layer that works with a firm's existing technology, from deal capture and confirmation through to Value at Risk.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Front End Developer to join our growing product team in Dubai.

Requirements

You will own the interfaces traders and risk teams rely on during the trading day. These include deal capture and review screens, trade blotters, approval workflows, dashboards, and risk views.

You will work closely with backend engineers, business analysts, and product stakeholders. This is a hands-on role for someone who cares about speed, accuracy, and clarity in data-heavy applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain the OrbicTrade web application and admin portal.
  • Build fast, reliable screens for deal capture, trade review, approvals, blotters, dashboards, and VaR reporting.
  • Create review experiences that clearly show AI-extracted fields, confidence levels, and source text, so users can correct and approve them quickly.
  • Build interfaces for in-channel capture from tools such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and WhatsApp.
  • Develop and maintain a reusable component library and front-end standards.
  • Integrate with REST APIs and event-driven services, working with backend engineers on API contracts.
  • Implement role-based access, four-eyes approval flows, and audit views in the user interface.
  • Optimize rendering and responsiveness for large data grids and frequently updated data.
  • Write unit, component, and end-to-end tests, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for the front end.
  • Investigate and resolve issues across development, testing, UAT, and production environments.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to product and architecture decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance and code reviews for other developers.
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables and manage them through to successful completion.

Required experience

  • At least 7 years of hands-on front-end development experience.
  • Strong experience with React and TypeScript in production applications.
  • Experience with server-side rendering, such as Next.js.
  • Experience building complex, data-heavy interfaces such as trading screens, blotters, grids, or dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of state management, performance optimization, and browser behavior.
  • Experience consuming REST APIs, with OAuth2 and SSO authentication flows.
  • Experience with automated testing, version control, and CI/CD.
  • Good understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and design systems.
  • Experience working with product, design, and business stakeholders on enterprise software.

Preferred experience

  • Experience in commodity trading, energy, capital markets, or financial services technology.
  • Understanding of the trade lifecycle across front-, middle-, and back-office functions.
  • Experience building user interfaces for AI products, including human review of model output.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 add-ins, Teams apps, or WhatsApp Business integrations.
  • Experience with charting and enterprise data-grid libraries.
  • Exposure to AWS Amplify, CDN deployment, and containerized environments.
  • Experience with enterprise security requirements such as ISO 27001.
