About the Role
An international television and streaming media house is building a cutting-edge, digital-first platform spanning a public website, mobile and smart-TV apps, live streaming, and internal newsroom tools. We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to take full ownership of our public web platform, optimize performance across varying network conditions, and maintain seamless integrations with our headless newsroom publishing system.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Ownership: Inherit, operate, and extend the main public website handed over by the delivery partner.
- CMS & Pipeline Integration: Integrate and maintain the headless CMS powering newsroom publishing, including preview capabilities and publish webhooks.
- Performance & Accessibility: Ensure exceptional site speed, responsiveness, and web accessibility across devices and network speeds (low-bandwidth to high-speed).
- Analytics & Measurement: Implement audience-measurement tags, telemetry, and web analytics tracking.
Requirements
- Modern Stack: Advanced mastery of JavaScript and TypeScript, paired with extensive React or Next.js experience.
- Production Web Delivery: Proven track record of shipping and maintaining production web applications under heavy traffic (be prepared to discuss your largest traffic events).
- Data-Driven Performance: Demonstrated success optimizing Core Web Vitals and load times, backed by concrete before-and-after metrics and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote global setup and attend launch-week operations onsite in Nigeria.
