About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the financial technology sector, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Full Stack Developer to contribute to the evolution of their core trading platform. This hybrid role, based in Benoni, Gauteng, ZA , requires a seasoned developer to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable web applications. You will work across the entire technology stack, from front-end user interfaces to back-end services and database management, playing a key role in delivering high-performance financial solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality, scalable web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
• Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across the full stack.
• Develop user-facing features and ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Create and manage robust back-end services, APIs, and databases.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, adhering to best practices.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in full-stack web development.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong experience with back-end languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Python (Django/Flask), Java (Spring), or Ruby on Rails.
• Solid understanding of database technologies, including SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB).
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, suited for a hybrid work environment.
• Experience in the FinTech industry is highly desirable.
