Senior Full Stack Developer

About Rundl

Rundl is building the technology platform for the next generation of property transactions across Australia and New Zealand. Our products combine secure multi-party collaboration, workflow automation, AI-assisted legal delivery, and new transaction services to make buying and selling property faster, safer, and substantially more efficient.

The platform has already supported more than 60,000 property matters. We are now entering a major AI-driven scale-up phase, rebuilding and extending the core platform, automating large parts of the conveyancing process, launching new products, and creating new ways for law firms and major partners to serve customers.

Rundl includes two closely connected core products. RundlCore is our secure multi-party transaction workspace. RundlPM, previously known as Launch, is our practice management and transaction platform. Teams work across the broader Rundl platform, with practical specialisation where useful rather than permanent ownership of a single product or codebase.

The role

You will lead a small engineering pod responsible for shipping useful, secure and maintainable software across RundlCore and RundlPM. We will not prescribe how much time you spend coding versus reviewing, coaching or coordinating. You will be held accountable for the pod’s output and quality and will decide how to achieve it.

What you will do
  • Optimise the pod’s mix of hands-on development, delegation, review, mentoring, testing and delivery coordination to maximise output and quality.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to at least two Philippine-based engineers, including work allocation, coaching, code review and delivery oversight.
  • Own the end-to-end technical quality of the pod’s work from requirements interpretation through release and production support.
  • Lead technical design within agreed architecture, including service boundaries, API and gRPC contracts, data integrity, permissions, observability and operational reliability; escalate platform-wide architecture, security, UI/UX or product-strategy decisions.
  • Translate roadmap outcomes into coherent technical delivery plans without waiting for exhaustive product documentation.
  • Set and enforce practical standards for code quality, automated testing, security, observability, maintainability and release readiness.
  • Use AI tools expertly across engineering delivery and ensure AI-generated work is reviewed, tested and fit for purpose.
  • Work across RundlCore and RundlPM, building enough breadth to guide delivery across both while retaining deeper expertise in at least one core technology environment.
Why join Rundl
  • Lead a small autonomous pod during a major AI-driven scale-up.
  • Own meaningful technical and delivery decisions across two connected product environments rather than acting as a ticket-taking senior developer.
  • Work on a proven platform used in more than 60,000 property matters.
  • Use AI deeply while focusing your own judgement on architecture, security, integration and quality.
  • Work remotely from New Zealand, with Auckland preferred and optional office access.
What you will bring
  • Approximately seven or more years of software-engineering experience, including senior technical delivery responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience leading delivery, mentoring engineers or directing the work of a small engineering team.
  • Deep production capability in at least one core backend environment—C#/.NET or Node.js/TypeScript—combined with strong React/TypeScript, cloud, data and integration capability.
  • Advanced use of AI engineering tools and a clear approach to validation, security and quality control.
  • Strong architecture, debugging, integration and systems-design judgement.
  • Ability to operate effectively with shared product support and incomplete specifications.
  • Existing right to work in New Zealand.
Working at Rundl

Rundl operates with small, accountable teams. We provide clear outcomes and meaningful autonomy, and expect people to determine the right way to deliver. Auckland is our preferred base, but we remain open to strong candidates elsewhere in New Zealand. Applicants must already have the right to work in New Zealand.
