Senior Full Stack Developer up to £70k Manchester, Hybrid

Pearson Carter are partnering with a not-for-profit healthcare organisation that works closely with the NHS to deliver and coordinate primary and community eye care services across a wide network of independent and local opticians.

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will become an important part of a development team building new digital healthcare solutions from the ground up. You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, solve complex problems and develop applications that make a genuine difference to healthcare professionals and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Take a senior role within an Agile development team, contributing to the architecture, development and ongoing enhancement of modern C# .NET healthcare applications.
  • Work closely with clinical teams, product owners and wider stakeholders to understand business challenges and turn them into practical, intuitive technical solutions.
  • Develop robust, secure and maintainable software with a strong focus on quality, scalability and healthcare data protection requirements.
  • Support the growth of less experienced developers through mentoring, technical guidance and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Lead and contribute to code reviews, automated testing, troubleshooting and performance improvements across the application.
  • Build and maintain integrations between internal systems, NHS services such as FHIR and e-RS, and external third-party APIs.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions, helping ensure solutions are scalable, reliable and fit for purpose.
  • Keep up to date with developments in software engineering, cloud technologies and the regulatory landscape surrounding healthcare applications.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience working as a Full Stack Developer or in a similar software engineering position.
  • Proven experience architecting, developing and operating cloud-based .NET applications, with a strong understanding of scalability, reliability and application performance.
  • Excellent knowledge of C# and modern .NET (6), including asynchronous programming, dependency injection, API development and established software design principles.
  • Strong commercial experience with React, including modern hooks, state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand or React Query, reusable component design and frontend performance.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments and collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including automated testing, code quality, debugging and version control.
  • Experience working with APIs and system integrations; exposure to healthcare platforms, NHS services or FHIR would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of developing secure applications and working with sensitive data in regulated environments.

Salary

They offer a competitive salary, dependent on experience and up to £70k.

Location

The client is based in Manchester and are looking for someone to come into office 2x per week.
