Discussion

Summary

Senior full stack engineer at an early-stage healthtech startup building AI agents that coordinate care logistics for people with serious chronic conditions. Day to day: greenfield development, building and evaluating LLM agents (prompting, guardrails, evals), ensuring HIPAA/SOC 2 compliance, and mentoring — using React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, and AWS/GCP.

About the Role

Join an early-stage healthtech team building AI agents that coordinate logistics for people living with serious chronic conditions. As a senior individual contributor and product-minded engineer, you will help shape the product and engineering team while delivering secure, user-focused software.

What You'll Do

  • Lead greenfield development for enterprise customer needs and related updates to the consumer application.

  • Partner with company leadership to shape the product roadmap across near-term priorities and longer-term plans.

  • Build, debug, and evaluate AI agents, including prompt engineering and evaluation harnesses.

  • Help ensure agent systems meet healthcare security and compliance requirements, including HIPAA and SOC 2.

  • Mentor engineers, delegate work, review code, and contribute to hiring.

What We're Looking For

  • Six to ten years of full stack engineering experience, including shipping consumer or user-facing products from zero to one at an early-stage or high-growth startup.

  • Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform, including Firebase or Firestore.

  • Production experience with LLMs, including agent orchestration, prompt and context design, tool use, evaluations, guardrails, and observability.

  • Experience as a founding or staff engineer, technical lead, or mentor to other engineers.

  • Healthcare or other regulated-industry experience is valuable, as is familiarity with HIPAA or SOC 2.

  • Strong product and front-end design sensibilities, with experience using Figma.

  • Equivalent experience or a degree demonstrating strong technical fundamentals.
