Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions across the full stack, from database to user interface.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code in various programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Optimize application performance and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the Pietermaritzburg team.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Full-Stack Engineer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Extensive experience with back-end development languages (e.g., Python/Django/Flask, Node.js, Java/Spring) and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly for collaborating within a hybrid team in Pietermaritzburg.
