About the role

At Staffy, we are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer – AI & Data Platform to join a highly motivated and experienced team building AI-powered applications, agent-enabled workflows, and backend automation for modern data platforms. In this role, you will work at the intersection of software engineering, AI, and data engineering, transforming catalogue and metadata information into governed, production-ready software. You will design backend services, agentic workflows, APIs, and user-facing interfaces that make data more discoverable, trustworthy, and accessible across the platform. The ideal candidate combines strong Python and modern frontend development skills with hands-on experience building AI-powered solutions, working with LLMs and agentic architectures, and collaborating with data engineering and governance teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend automation that integrates multiple metadata sources and transforms catalogue information into governed software artifacts, such as data contracts
• Design and build AI-powered and agent-enabled applications and workflows, including MCP servers, tools, and integrations with LLMs
• Develop services and APIs using Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, and asynchronous programming
• Build modern user-facing interfaces and discovery workflows using React, TypeScript, and Next.js, with exposure to Vue.js
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices following scalable and maintainable architecture principles
• Work with data and metadata platforms to support data discovery, governance, readiness, and quality processes
• Integrate AI capabilities into applications using LLMs, agent frameworks, MCP, and technologies such as Snowflake Cortex and Genie
• Work with graph-based data structures and retrieval architectures, including Graph RAG and Neo4j
• Develop and maintain integrations with databases and data platforms such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks, and Supabase
• Implement unit and integration testing and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Governance, Product, and other technical teams to define solutions and make architectural decisions
• Contribute to technical documentation, coding standards, best practices, and continuous improvement
• Stay current with emerging AI, agentic development, data platform, and software engineering technologies

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong experience in fullstack development
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, including API/service development with FastAPI, asynchronous programming, and schema validation using Pydantic or JSON Schema
• Professional experience with modern frontend development using React, TypeScript, and Next.js, with knowledge of Vue.js as a plus
• Proven experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices
• Hands-on experience building or integrating AI-powered applications, LLM-based solutions, or agentic workflows.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent solutions.
• Understanding of Graph RAG architectures and graph-based data structures, with experience using technologies such as Neo4j.
• Experience working with databases and data platforms such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Supabase, or Databricks.
• Experience with MCP, preferably including building MCP servers and tools in addition to consuming them.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including Git, unit testing, integration testing, CI/CD, and code quality.
• Experience with cloud computing and serverless architectures, preferably AWS.
• Ability to work with data engineering concepts and transform catalogue, metadata, and governance outputs into functional software solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous, and continuously evolving environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building MCP servers, tools, and agentic applications
• Familiarity with data governance, data catalogues, and data contract standards, including YAML-based contracts
• Experience with platforms such as Collibra, Unity Catalog, Horizon, Snowflake Cortex, or Snowflake Genie
• Experience with Docker and cloud-native development
• Experience working in regulated industries, particularly Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Pharmaceutical
• Previous experience in technology consulting or client-facing environments
• Experience working with AI-powered development workflows and autonomous coding agents
