Our client is a leading French banking group, building solutions for its businesses worldwide from its Portuguese hubs. Its IT team is moving its data platform and ETL flows from on-premise databases to Google Cloud, and is looking for two senior Data Engineers to make it happen.
- Migration: Design and run the move of data and ETL processes from on-premise databases (Oracle, SQL Server) to BigQuery.
- Pipelines: Build and maintain robust ETL / ELT pipelines on GCP, orchestrated with Cloud Composer (Airflow).
- Performance: Write and tune complex SQL for BigQuery and design optimised schemas (partitioning, clustering, cost control).
- Automation & Quality: Automate migration and transformation tasks in Python, with data quality checks before and after go-live.
- Collaboration: Work with DBAs, analysts, business lines and data scientists, review code and support pipelines in production.
- Experience: 6+ years in data engineering or ETL development, still hands-on.
- ETL & Oracle: Strong ETL / ELT design and Oracle SQL / PL/SQL (SQL Server is a plus).
- Google Cloud: Hands-on BigQuery and Airflow / Cloud Composer; Dataflow, Cloud Storage or DMS are a plus.
- Python: Solid scripting for automation, data transformation and GCP APIs.
- Languages: French and English, both B2 minimum (CV in English).
- Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Lisbon or Porto, with the right to work in Portugal.
