The Sr. General Ledger Analyst is responsible for overseeing and performing hotel accounting functions, for hotels in North and Latin America supported by the Shared Service Center. In addition, the Senior GL Analyst will be responsible for process development and improvement for hotel accounting and the HSSC General Ledger department and serve as a knowledgeable resource for hotel ownership groups and senior Hyatt leadership. This position is also responsible for the preparation and review of reconciliations in an amount that will vary due to the demands of the department, not limited to review or 14 properties, preparation of 5 properties, or combination of both. While assisting with guiding team members, addressing complex properties and projects that arise. The candidate will have a clear vision of the level of service that constitutes “high quality” to ensure that the HSSC exceeds its defined service levels. This role will build and maintain strong relationships with multiple properties, HSSC divisions, and associates within Hyatt.

Essential Functions\:

  • Communicates goals, best practices, objectives and deadlines to team members.
  • Develop, implement and instruct on new processes and procedures in accordance with Hyatt Standards and GAAP accounting guidelines to create efficiencies for hotel accounting and the HSSC General Ledger department.
  • Plan, organize and oversee the work of the hotel accounting team, as well as collaborate with the HSSC General Ledger team adjusting priorities as needed to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to HSSC and hotel employees.
  • Prepare and review all income journals and ledger account reconciliations to include\: bank statements, assets, liabilities and credit cards.
  • Assesses and positively impacts employee performance through coaching and mentoring.
  • Assist in identify and implementing efficiencies and automations.
  • Participation in employee events, onsite meetings, hotel visits and industry conferences as needed.
  • Work well with others at a variety of levels within the organization.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by supervisors.
  • Regular attendance is expected based on schedule and business needs.
