Senior Health & Safety Manager Our client is a leading multinational engineering services provider and general contractor who employ over 2,000 and deliver leading-edge construction solutions across a range of key sectors including Data Centres, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Technology, Fire protection, Building Services, and Technical Support Services. They are currently looking for a Senior HSE Manager to join them on a Data Centre Project in Mons, Belgium. The ideal Senior Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for - • Develop, implement, and oversee project-specific health and safety strategies and plans, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, industry best practices, and client requirements. • Conduct and review high-level site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure robust safe systems of work across all construction activities. • Lead major incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement strategic corrective actions to prevent recurrence of accidents, near misses, or non-conformances. • Drive the delivery of health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programs for site staff, subcontractors, and visitors to foster a proactive safety culture. • Monitor, analyse, and report on health and safety performance, maintaining comprehensive records and presenting findings to senior management and client stakeholders. • Provide guidance and leadership to subcontractors and site teams, ensuring their health and safety plans and practices align with corporate and project standards. • Oversee the implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives, including waste management, noise control, and pollution prevention measures, ensuring integration with H&S strategy. • Stay ahead of changes in health and safety legislation and industry guidance, promoting continuous improvement in site safety practices, policies, and procedures at a senior management level.
You will need - • Relevant third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline. • Over 10 years' experience in environmental, health and safety management on large-scale construction projects, including experience with Tier 1 contractors. • Proven experience leading project-wide health and safety teams and driving safety performance across complex construction environments. • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) preferred. • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation and industry best practices. • Strong experience in incident investigation, auditing, compliance management, and stakeholder engagement. • Data Centre experience is highly desirable. • An EU passport is required for this role.
