This position directly manages a small team and serves as the primary escalation point for complex, sensitive, or high-risk employee relations and Talent Relations matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with management and employees to build relationships, morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Partner with the CHRO, HR team, Legal, Finance, and department leadership to proactively address organizational needs.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular (e.g., weekly) meetings with respective business units.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and quality control for the Talent Relations function, and directly manage and develop a small team.
  • Oversee the Casting sick pay process to ensure timely completion and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for complex, high-risk, or legally sensitive Talent Relations matters, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or other unlawful conduct.
  • Review and approve investigation findings, disciplinary determinations, and written investigation summaries prepared by the Talent Relations Specialist prior to finalization.
  • Partner with the Legal department as needed for escalations.
  • Handle Human Resources matters in regional locations, if applicable.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Business Partner.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations (harassment, discrimination, retaliation); prior oversight of a dedicated Employee/Talent Relations function strongly preferred.
  • Prior people management experience required.
  • High level of knowledge of CA-specific employment regulations required.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state EEO laws and workplace investigation standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple client groups simultaneously and provide strong consultative skills.
  • Broad business and financial understanding and the ability to apply it to human capital implications.
  • Adept at communicating effectively across all levels of internal and external stakeholders while inspiring confidence.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to identify and analyze business and organizational needs.
  • Proven success communicating key HR initiatives through the proper channels.
  • Sound judgment in handling highly confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to produce and review high-quality written work product, including investigation summaries and recommendations.
  • Strong people-leadership skills, with demonstrated experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience providing HRBP support to Technology and/or Finance departments preferred.
  • Experience with HCM systems; Oracle preferred.
