Senior Infrastructure Engineer | 12 months contract | up to $6600
Summary
A Senior Infrastructure Engineer maintains mission-critical bus ETA platform infrastructure, managing servers (Red Hat/Linux), containers, PostgreSQL, storage, and data center operations while overseeing vendor contracts and 24/7 incident response.
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support the availability, reliability, and performance of a mission-critical Bus ETA platform.
This is an on-site 12-month contract role based at Hampshire Road Office. You will manage physical and virtual servers, Red Hat operating systems, container platforms, PostgreSQL databases, storage, backup systems, and data centre infrastructure.
You will also be responsible for managing and overseeing infrastructure vendors, including coordinating maintenance activities, reviewing service and change requests, monitoring work completion, and supporting incident escalation and resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain physical and virtual servers supporting the Bus ETA platform.
Administer Red Hat or Linux server environments, containers, and PostgreSQL.
Monitor system health, capacity, performance, and availability.
Oversee infrastructure vendors and ensure contracted maintenance and support work is completed correctly and on time.
Coordinate patching, firmware upgrades, lifecycle management, and change requests.
Support data centre operations, including storage, backup, server hardware, UPS, and environmental monitoring.
Lead infrastructure incident response, recovery, and root cause analysis.
Develop disaster recovery procedures and support failover and restoration testing.
Prepare operational reports, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Participate in 24/7 standby or on-call support for critical incidents.
Requirements
Experience administering Red Hat or Linux server environments.
Hands-on experience with containers, such as Podman, Docker, or similar platforms.
Experience supporting PostgreSQL environments.
Knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V virtualisation.
Experience with data centre operations, storage, and backup solutions.
Proven experience managing or overseeing infrastructure vendors.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical, or transport-related systems.
Willingness to support 24/7 standby or on-call duties.
Candidates available immediately or with a notice period of up to 1 month will be prioritised.
Contract: 12 months
Salary: $6,400-$6,600 per month
