Job Overview
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer designs, maintains, and improves infrastructure platforms and services across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role applies advanced technical knowledge to resolve complex infrastructure needs, strengthen security and resiliency, and improve the reliability and performance of technology environments. The position partners with internal teams, managed service providers, and vendors to evaluate solutions, advance technical practices, and align infrastructure services with organizational, operational, and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements infrastructure solutions that strengthen security, connectivity, performance, and operational resiliency
  • Serves as a primary technical liaison with managed service providers, technology partners, and vendors to review recommendations, address technical issues, and maintain service and operational requirements
  • Leads technical triage and resolution efforts for major infrastructure incidents, including stakeholder communication, escalation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Coordinates resolution of complex infrastructure vulnerabilities through patching, validation, risk assessment, and remediation activities performed internally and through managed service providers
  • Provides advanced technical support and oversight for infrastructure platforms, including virtualization, cloud, compute, storage, network, and collaboration technologies
  • Designs, implements, and manages the lifecycle of complex infrastructure solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
  • Strengthens infrastructure reliability, availability, and recoverability through monitoring, capacity planning, vulnerability remediation, backup, and disaster recovery practices
  • Coordinates and executes technical workstreams for infrastructure projects, coordinating with vendors, internal teams, business stakeholders, and managed service providers
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to team members and promotes knowledge sharing and operational excellence
  • Designs and supports integrations between cloud, on-premises, and third-party technology platforms
  • Develops, automates, and tests integration processes and operational improvements that increase the efficiency and reliability of technology deployments and infrastructure services
Minimum Required Qualifications
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience supporting infrastructure environments, including infrastructure design, administration, systems integration, incident resolution, and/or relevant transferable experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Industry certifications related to cloud, infrastructure, networking, virtualization, security, or IT service management

  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud services, identity, and hybrid environments
  • Knowledge of infrastructure architecture, system interdependencies, resiliency, disaster recovery, backup, and technology lifecycle practices
  • Knowledge of information security, vulnerability management, access controls, risk mitigation, and technology governance practices
  • Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues across interconnected infrastructure technologies
  • Skilled in analyzing technical information to identify dependencies, risks, root causes, and appropriate solutions
  • Skilled in evaluating infrastructure technologies and recommending solutions based on technical and business requirements
  • Skilled in developing technical standards, documentation, and operational practices
  • Skilled in communicating complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment when addressing complex or ambiguous technical problems
  • Ability to prioritize competing technical needs, incidents, projects, and operational responsibilities
Work Environment
Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job’s functions.
  • Flexible remote or hybrid (combination of remote & onsite) work environment; requires regular use of online tools, systems, and collaboration platforms
  • General office setting when working onsite
  • Participation in an on-call rotation requiring availability for after-hours escalation and response as needed
  • Occasional work outside of traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends, to support technology deployments, maintenance, and operational or business needs
  • Attendance at offsite meetings, events, or conferences as needed
