Senior Infrastructure Engineer (x5) | Federal Government | Contract Opportunity
About the Role
We're seeking experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineers that holds NV1 Security Clearance to join a major Federal Government program supporting critical digital services that impact millions of Australians.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale enterprise infrastructure, modern DevSecOps practices, Linux platforms, and container technologies within a complex and highly secure ICT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain enterprise infrastructure platforms.
- Manage and support integrated Development, Test, UAT and Pre-Production environments.
- Administer and support Linux (Red Hat) environments.
- Configure and maintain container platforms including OpenShift and OpenStack.
- Automate infrastructure deployments using Ansible and GitLab CI/CD.
- Implement DevSecOps practices across enterprise platforms.
- Support project build, testing and deployment activities.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Manage backup, disaster recovery and platform resilience.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, security teams and external vendors.
- Produce technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Key Skills & Experience
We're looking for candidates with:
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining multiple integrated non-production environments.
- Experience in Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering
- Linux (Red Hat)
- OpenShift
- OpenStack
- DevSecOps
- Infrastructure Automation
- GitLab CI/CD
- Ansible
- Bash / Shell / Python scripting
- Infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting
- Root cause analysis
- Disaster recovery and backup management
- Large enterprise or government environments
- Must hold an Active NV1 Security Clearance
