Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable
Experience
- 10 years relevant post graduate experience, with at least 6 years in the oil & gas industry
- Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and codes related to instrumentation engineering
- Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in English
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical design and engineering services in instrumentation engineering for assigned engineering projects, ensuring technical quality of work in accordance with company procedures, while considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE
- Conduct instrumentation engineering activities and in-house site surveys from initial concept definition through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning
- Ensure that company technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work scopes and during instrumentation engineering activities
- Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices
- Support the engineering department to review, update and apply company standards and amendments to external standards
- Plan and co-ordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers to provide timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements
- Co-ordinate engineering designs, and develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects and other engineering activities, ensuring that the work scope is comprehensive and clear
- Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance, and liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues
- Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, and contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery
- Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance
- Review and evaluate contract changes/variations to approved guidelines and practices
- Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of co-workers
- Participate in structured training for associate Qatari engineers
