Senior iOS Engineer - 4-Week Contract

Compensation: $100k – $145k • No equity

Bring fmsg to iOS: a beautifully crafted native app for the future of AI messaging.

fmsg AI is a messaging platform for people, businesses and AI agents, built on an open protocol. Our web app and backend are live at fmsg.ai. We need an experienced iOS engineer to build and ship our first native iOS app.

The role

• Build a Swift/SwiftUI app with feature parity with the fmsg.ai web app, plus push notifications.
• Bring the fmsg.ai design and themes to iOS with fluid, native interactions.
• Ship it: testing, App Store submission and review. AI-assisted tools welcome.

Backend and APIs are done; we handle any server-side changes, including APNs. The app is owned by FMSG AI Pty Ltd and published under our Apple Developer account, which we'll set up with your guidance.

Deliverable: the app live on the App Store by 27 November, with submission well before the final week. You have

• A track record of shipping iOS apps with standout UI/UX.
• Strong Swift and SwiftUI, including auth, push and messaging.
• The judgement to deliver independently, and your own Mac and devices.
• Interest in AI agents and open protocols.

The engagement

• Dates: 2–27 November 2026 (20 working days).
• Rate: US$500–650/day depending on experience.
• Location: Fully remote, worldwide.
• Collaboration: A one-hour Zoom each weekday at a Perth-friendly time (UTC+8).
• Beyond the contract: Extension possible, subject to funding, with a potential path to a founding engineering role.
