Summary
Contract role (6-18+ months, W2 through Lighthouse Technology Services) for a senior Java engineer working remotely for a US client. Day to day: leading on-prem-to-Azure cloud migration and building Spring Boot 3.5.x microservices and REST/SOAP APIs on AKS, integrating KeyVault, storage, Application Insights, APIM, and OAuth2/EntraID auth.
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Java Azure Cloud Engineer (Spring Boot/AKS) position! This is a 6-18 months+ contract and will be remote in United States.
This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead cloud migration initiatives supporting the transition from on-premise infrastructure to Azure Cloud CoLo environment
- Design, develop, and deploy RESTful APIs and SOAP web services using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Integrate Azure services including Azure KeyVault, storage accounts, and Application Insights into cloud-native solutions
- Build and maintain Spring Boot 3.5.x microservices with Spring Security and OAuth2 authentication patterns
- Implement API Management (APIM) solutions consuming services through OAuth and EntraID authentication flows
- Oversee systems analysis, design, and development activities for complex application modernization projects
- Provide technical leadership and direction to less experienced engineers on cloud development initiatives
- Prepare detailed technical specifications, architecture documentation, and maintain system documentation standards
- Collaborate with operations teams and business stakeholders to deliver solutions from analysis through user acceptance testing
- Drive continuous improvement by recommending new technologies and best practices to enhance cloud infrastructure
What You'll Need to Have:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot (version 3.5.x required)
- Strong proficiency in Java 17 and Java 21 development
- Proven Azure Cloud development experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure services as core competencies
- Demonstrated experience deploying and supporting RESTful APIs and SOAP web services in production AKS environments
- Solid understanding of Azure service integration including KeyVault, storage solutions, and Application Insights
- Strong knowledge of Spring Security, OAuth2 authentication patterns, and JUnit testing frameworks
- Experience with GitLab Duo and modern CI/CD practices
Pay Range: $75-80+/hr
