Senior Java Backend Developer
Summary
Build and maintain secure, scalable Java backend services for payment platforms using Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and AWS, with exposure to card networks and PCI-DSS compliance.
Candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java Backend Development (Java + Spring Boot) with exposure to financial services, banking, payments, or transaction processing platforms .
This role requires candidates who are comfortable working on enterprise-grade backend applications, supporting secure and highly available systems, and contributing to system enhancements, integrations, and modernization initiatives.
Relevant payment-related platforms is required ( any).

Mandatory Skills
Java Backend Development - Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise backend applications using Java. Candidate should have experience building scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services.
Spring Boot Framework - Strong experience developing REST APIs, microservices, backend services, and enterprise applications using Spring Boot.
Financial Services Experience - Experience working within Banking, Payments, Insurance, FinTech, or other regulated financial environments. Candidate should understand enterprise systems requiring security, stability, and high transaction volumes.
Payment Systems / Transaction Processing - Experience supporting payment platforms, payment gateways, payment processing systems, switching platforms, or financial transaction applications.
International Payment Schemes - Exposure to payment ecosystems involving Visa, Mastercard, Amex, UPI, or similar card/payment networks.
Backend API Development & Integration - Experience developing and integrating backend APIs, REST services, and enterprise system integrations with internal/external platforms.
Linux Server Environment - Strong experience developing, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting applications running on Linux environments (RHEL preferred).
Windows OS Environment - Experience supporting enterprise applications deployed or integrated within Windows environments.
AWS Cloud Exposure - Experience working with AWS Cloud environments, including application deployment, migration, monitoring, or cloud-based development activities. Cloud migration experience is an advantage.
Python Scripting - Experience using Python scripting for automation, operational support, integration, or application enhancement activities.
Korn Shell Scripting - Experience writing and maintaining shell scripts in Linux environments for automation and operational activities.
PostgreSQL Database - Experience working with PostgreSQL including SQL development, backend integration, query optimization, and database troubleshooting.
Payment Security & Compliance - Understanding of PCI-DSS standards, payment security controls, and card industry requirements.
System Migration & Modernisation - Experience supporting application migration, platform upgrades, or modernization initiatives from legacy environments to newer platforms/cloud.
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) - Experience contributing across requirement analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
Technical Documentation - Ability to prepare technical documentation including solution designs, integration flows, technical specifications, and support documentation.
Stakeholder Collaboration - Ability to work with technical leads, QA teams, business users, vendors, banks, and external partners.
