We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on a 12-month B2B/Freelance contract, with a strong possibility of extension.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a leading technology platform, collaborating with top-tier engineers in a fast-paced, international environment. You'll play a key role in shaping scalable backend solutions, driving technical excellence, and supporting teams across multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with highly skilled engineering teams to build and scale a best-in-class platform.
- Drive technical excellence and contribute to cross-team and cross-functional alignment.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and microservices-based architectures.
- Work with modern integration frameworks and implement enterprise integration patterns.
- Coach and mentor developers on both client and partner teams.
- Deliver technical training, workshops, and best-practice guidance.
- Collaborate effectively within diverse, multicultural teams across international locations.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and continuously improve existing solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Java Backend Engineering role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Excellent English communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Java
- Spring / Spring Boot
- Microservices Architecture
- Integration Patterns
- Apache Camel
- Spring Integration
- Proven ability to adapt to evolving technologies and software landscapes.
