Senior Java Developer

Project description

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our client's team and contribute to the development of modern, scalable back-end services. You'll be part of a collaborative team focused on clean code, agile methodologies, and delivering high-quality solutions. The client is from the investment banking industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring
• Implement data access using Hibernate and SQL, with attention to performance and maintainability
• Containerize and deploy applications on Kubernetes
• Provision and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Define and consume RESTful APIs, clearly communicating requirements and constraints across teams
• Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions
• Apply clean code principles and back-end best practices across the codebase
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration)
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban), including refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Perform code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and tooling
• Work closely with QA, product managers, and architects to ensure high-quality, business-aligned deliveries
• Support and improve existing applications in a fast-paced, enterprise investment-banking environment

SKILLS

Must have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related IT field, with 8+ years of experience in Java development.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
• Proficiency with the Flowable framework.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of React. • Knowledge of Python. • Agile development methodologies. • Investment banking domain knowledge is a big plus.
