Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise Java applications in line with business and technical requirements.
- Participate in technical analysis, solution design, effort estimation, and project planning activities.
- Conduct unit testing, peer code reviews, and support quality assurance processes to ensure delivery of high-quality code.
- Provide production support, perform root cause analysis, and resolve system issues effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- IT-related Degree or Diploma (BSc, BTech, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years' software development experience.
- Experience developing enterprise applications using Java technologies.
- Exposure to financial services or insurance environments will be advantageous.
- Experience working within Agile and SDLC environments.
- Java Programming Language.
- Java EE.
- JBoss EAP or similar application servers.
- JPA and ORM frameworks.
- XML, XSD, JAXB.
- Relational databases and PL/SQL.
- EJB.
- JavaServer Faces (JSF).
- HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3.
- Git Version Control.
- Jira and/or BitBucket.
- Unit Testing and Systems Integration Testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.
