Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot / Oracle PL / SQL)

Salary: 70-120k THB

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join its software engineering team. This role focuses on developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise backend applications using modern Java technologies, Spring Boot, and Oracle databases.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on developer with strong backend architecture skills, advanced Oracle PL/SQL experience, and the ability to collaborate with local and international teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise backend applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
• Design backend architecture, RESTful APIs, service integrations, asynchronous processing, and messaging solutions.
• Develop and optimise complex Oracle PL/SQL, including stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers.
• Enhance and modernise existing Java applications, including legacy systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve application performance, and ensure system stability.
• Utilise AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, reviewing and validating generated code.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD processes, and software quality improvements.
• Prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Communicate with overseas technical teams on system design, development, and implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 6–8+ years of experience in Java backend development within enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring Security.
• Advanced knowledge of Oracle Database and PL/SQL programming.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Good English communication skills for technical discussions, code reviews, and documentation.

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with Java version upgrades and legacy system modernisation.
• Oracle SQL performance tuning and execution plan analysis.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Docker, Kubernetes, or containerised application deployment.
• Familiarity with JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or jQuery.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence.
