Job Role: Senior Java Developer - Trade App
Location: Changi Business Park
Employment: Contract 12 months (Renewable with banking industry)
We are seeking experienced Senior Java Developers to join a high-profile Equity Trading project. The selected candidates will be responsible for developing and enhancing critical trading platform components, with a strong focus on invoicing, fee calculation, and trade booking functionalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java-based applications for Trading systems.
- Develop and enhance Modules supporting trade lifecycle and settlement processes.
- Build and optimize Modules
- Develop and maintain Downstream Trade Booking Modules to support trade processing and integration with back-office systems.
- Collaborate with business analysts, traders, QA teams, and solution architects to deliver scalable solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely fixes.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
- Participate in system integration testing and deployment activities.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience in Java
Experience with Spring Boot
Strong knowledge of MariaDB
Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices
Strong understanding of SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization
Experience with version control systems such as Git
Knowledge of application performance tuning and debugging
Domain Skills
Experience in Equity Trading, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking environments
Understanding of trade lifecycle, trade capture, booking, settlement, and post-trade processing
Knowledge of billing calculations within financial systems is highly desirable
Preferred Skills
Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ)
Knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevOps tools
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Exposure to cloud-based deployment environments
Well‑organized and disciplined in following documented processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
5-7 years of hands‑on Java backend development experience.
Strong understanding of software development best practices and testing methodologies.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
