Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a large distributed Java system handling real-time data feeds
  • Contribute to building a new risk engine for systematic trading clients
  • Work on data platform expansion from scratch with financial domain support
  • Optimize for latency, throughput, and robustness in a high-volume environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology with business goals
  • Ensure reliability and performance in a capital-intensive trading setup
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of commercial development experience
  • Strong, demonstrable low-level Java experience (Java 8+)
  • Proficiency with sockets and ByteBuffers
  • Strong database skills
  • Experience with messaging and code generation
  • Understanding of computing fundamentals, OOP, threading, concurrency, and distributed systems
  • 2:1 Computer Science degree from a UK or EU university
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, latency considerations, and scalable architectures
