As a Java Developer, you will play a critical role within the software development team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining systems that support a dynamic life insurance business. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise Java applications in line with business and technical requirements. Participate in technical analysis, solution design, effort estimation, and project planning activities. Conduct unit testing, peer code reviews, and support quality assurance processes to ensure delivery of high-quality code. Provide production support, perform root cause analysis, and resolve system issues effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts throughout the software development lifecycle. Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile: Education: Matric (Grade 12). IT-related Degree or Diploma (BSc, BTech, or equivalent). Experience: Minimum 3 years' software development experience. Exposure to financial services or insurance environments will be advantageous. Experience working within Agile and SDLC environments. Technical Skills: JBoss EAP or similar application servers. JPA and ORM frameworks. XML, XSD, JAXB. Relational databases and PL/SQL. EJB. Java Server Faces (JSF). Unit Testing and Systems Integration Testing. Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-changing environment. Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.
