We are seeking a Senior Learning & Development Specialist to join our rapidly growing team.

The Opportunity:

Our team supports a diverse range of employees throughout Auxiliary Services. As our Senior Learning & Development Specialist, you will lead us as we determine training needs and functional training modules for our units. You will also collaborate with Auxiliary Services Directors, Associate Directors and unit Managers/ Directors to design, develop and implement strategic learning and organizational development solutions for all business units. This position also leads a team of learning and organizational development specialists in addition to functioning as a valued consultant, master presenter and facilitator. Your ability to communicate and connect with employees at all levels will be crucial to your success. The Accountabilities:

  • Partners with the Associate Director of Food Safety, Quality Assurance & Compliance to coordinate, schedule, and track mandatory compliance and regulatory training including food safety, workplace safety, and other required certifications. Maintains accurate records of completion and ensures staff meet certification deadlines.
  • Administers the department’s customer feedback program. Monitors incoming responses, identifies trends and recurring issues, and communicates findings to operational managers. Recommends and implements training-based solutions when feedback indicates a performance or knowledge gap.
  • Manages all content and scheduling for push notifications on the department mobile app. Develops clear, timely, and audience-appropriate messaging. Oversees content displayed on department digital monitors. Ensures displays are current, accurate, and aligned with operational priorities and departmental communications.
  • Leads and facilitates new hire orientation for all incoming employees. Develops and maintains orientation content to ensure consistency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with departmental culture and operational standards.
  • Creates position-specific training and development programs that facilitates career progression within the department and provide opportunities for promoting from within

The Qualifiers:

Minimum 3 years relevant experience

Salary Range:

The annual base salary range for this position is $90000.00-$94000.00 When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Additional Information pertinent to this specific position:

May be required to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays. Must have full availability to support the needs of the business.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience in developing and conducting training classes. Development of instructional materials.
