What's the role?

Join a critical leadership team at the heart of Westpac's Financial Markets and Treasury Operations business. As Senior Manager, Collateral and Margining, you'll lead a team of specialists responsible for the end-to-end management of collateral and margining activities across OTC cleared and uncleared derivatives, variation and initial margin, repo collateral management, portfolio reconciliations and dispute resolution.

You'll provide strategic oversight of a complex and highly regulated function, ensuring strong risk management, operational excellence and a robust control environment. Working closely with Front Office, Treasury, Risk, Credit, Legal, Finance and Technology teams, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes, strengthen controls, reduce operational risk and create scalable solutions to support future growth.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements.

What do I need?

• Strong expertise in collateral management, OTC cleared and uncleared margining, variation margin (VM), initial margin (IM), repo collateral activity and portfolio reconciliation processes.
• Proven people leadership capability, with the ability to coach, develop and inspire high-performing teams across onshore and offshore environments.
• Deep understanding of operational risk, controls, dispute management, reconciliations and governance within a financial markets or treasury operations setting.
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and collaborate across Front Office, Treasury, Risk, Legal, Finance, Technology and external counterparties.
• A track record of driving process improvement, automation and operational efficiency while building scalable, resilient operating models.
