Senior Manager, Platform Software Engineering

The Java Platform Group is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Software Development Senior Manager to join our world class development efforts. Our team is responsible for delivering the Java platform that is used by millions of developers. We are looking for a seasoned senior manager with a thorough understanding of testing methodologies, a passion for quality, a strong technical background to advance our processes, and a desire to make a positive change in our product.

We're looking for a hands-on leader with thorough knowledge of Java to ramp up and manage a distributed team of engineers. We hire senior manager with software development and management background. Our goal is to have the senior manager capable of managing highly talented engineers distributed around the world, in a high paced environment, to develop world class software. Senior manager needs to be hands-on and able to build and understand code. Growth in this role means being able to deliver results in a timely manner, assessing risks and defining a mitigation plan, and making sure the deliverables are of the highest quality. The primary focus for this position will be on Core Java technologies.

  • We hire Java developers to write code to test/exercise Java platform. Our goal is to have engineers writing robust, reliable, repeatable and maintainable tests that find issues early and cover the area of the component under testing. Demonstrated ability to recruit and hire talented Java developers and ramp up a team
  • Strong knowledge of Java Core Library in Network and Security
  • A strong technical background as well as good verbal and written communication skills
  • You will be expected to work with a wide range of features and component teams in order to drive quality product for the Java Platform
  • Create the next generation of features, testing tools, techniques, and infrastructure to improve the speed of release cycles
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand new technologies, design and develop test suite to ensure the quality of the product
  • Managing test, resource and hardware plans to ensure product quality, increase code coverage and minimize bug escapes to customers
  • Ensuring timely software releases by improving efficiency, productivity and consistency through automation

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120,000 to $306,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
