Senior Managing Consultant, Services Business Development – Fintech & Telecommunications

About the Role

Mastercard is seeking a commercially driven business development leader to grow its Services portfolio across telecommunications and fintech clients in West Africa. The role focuses on strategic partnerships, new business opportunities, and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business development and revenue generation across telecommunications and fintech clients in West Africa.
• Develop value propositions and customized presentations for senior client stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
• Identify, negotiate, and close complex business opportunities and multi-year contracts.
• Build strategic client relationships and execute growth plans with account leadership teams.
• Coordinate with marketing, sales, product, consulting, and customer success teams to drive growth.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure strong client outcomes.
• Develop industry insights, thought leadership content, and market perspectives.
• Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities across West Africa.
• Maintain and share client and assignment knowledge across the organisation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Extensive consultative sales experience in consulting services, data products, software platforms, analytics, telecommunications, fintech, technology, or related industries.
• Proven ability to develop and close complex business opportunities with senior decision-makers.
• Experience selling strategic solutions to C-suite executives.
• Strong relationship-building, networking, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Advanced analytical skills and ability to quantify business value.
• Collaborative, entrepreneurial, proactive, and resilient mindset.
• Understanding of telecommunications and fintech ecosystems across West Africa is highly desirable.
• MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English required; French proficiency is desirable.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
