Summary

Build and own the agent platform at a fintech company's applied AI team: general-purpose and ambient agents for financial advisors, LLM orchestration with tools and retrieval, human-in-the-loop/generative UIs, eval infrastructure, and memory systems. Core stack includes Python, TypeScript, React, and vector databases. On-site in NYC.

About the Role

Join the applied AI team at a fintech company to build and own its agent platform. You will develop reliable AI systems that support financial advisors and clients, with a focus on high-quality outputs, effective human collaboration, and financial data accuracy.

What You'll Do

  • Build general-purpose agents that plan and complete complex tasks using code execution, web search, retrieval, and other tools.

  • Develop ambient agents that triage email, process meetings, draft communications, and surface timely actions for advisors and clients.

  • Design the agent harness that coordinates language models, context, tools, retrieval, and business logic.

  • Create generative user interfaces and human-in-the-loop workflows that let advisors collaborate with agents and retain control.

  • Build evaluation infrastructure for both correctness-sensitive financial data and tasks requiring judgment.

  • Develop memory systems that retrieve and update relevant client context over time.

What We're Looking For

  • Four to ten years of full-stack or backend engineering experience, including production LLM-powered agents.

  • Experience orchestrating LLMs with retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks.

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals across APIs, data modeling, and system design.

  • Fluency with relevant technologies such as Python, LLMs, vector databases, TypeScript, and React.

  • Experience shipping and maintaining high-quality AI systems in production, including evaluation infrastructure for non-deterministic systems.

  • Background at a high-growth startup or comparable technical environment, with evidence of growth and progression in your work.

  • Experience with generative UI or human-in-the-loop interfaces is valuable.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $200,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
