Senior Mobile QA Automation Engineer
Summary
Join DeviQA (QA services vendor) as the first mobile automation engineer on a client project: a trading-exchange platform with a React Native app for iOS and Android. You'll pick the mobile automation stack, build the framework from scratch, automate critical flows, run tests on devices/emulators, and integrate them into CI/CD.
About the project
A trading exchange platform with a mobile application for iOS and Android, built with React Native. The product is actively growing, and the team is now investing in quality at the mobile level. There is currently no automated test coverage and no test stack has been chosen yet, so you will build mobile automation from scratch, including selecting the tools and approach. You will be the first automation engineer on the mobile side.
Responsibilities
Evaluate options and choose the mobile test automation stack (tools, language, device strategy), and justify the decision to the team
Design and build a mobile test automation framework from scratch for the React Native app (iOS and Android)
Automate critical user flows and build a stable regression suite
Run tests on emulators, simulators and real devices (or a device cloud)
Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline
Analyze test results, investigate flaky tests and keep the suite stable
Work closely with developers and manual QA, help define test strategy and release criteria
Document the framework and help the team adopt it
Requirements
Experience setting up a mobile automation framework from scratch, including choosing the tooling
4+ years in QA Automation, including 2+ years in mobile test automation for iOS and Android
Hands-on experience testing React Native applications
Hands-on experience with mobile automation tools (for example Appium, Detox, Maestro, XCUITest, Espresso) and understanding of their trade-offs
Solid programming skills in at least one language (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java or Kotlin)
Experience integrating tests into CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar)
Good understanding of test design, test pyramid and regression strategy
Experience with real devices, emulators/simulators or cloud device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs or similar)
English: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher
Will be a plus
Experience with Detox specifically
Experience with API testing (Postman, REST)
Experience in fintech, trading or other high-load financial products
Experience with performance or load testing
Experience introducing QA processes and mentoring colleagues
